Freddie will show the Germans a thing or two
This column, written in a very jocular and vernacular tone by the FM Magazine columnist "V-Nijntje," laments Fred Lachotzki's ("Freddie's") move across the border to go work at the giant German retail concern ASKO. It's the loss of a national treasure, of "food-ball Freddie," and especially of someone who knew how to get all the competing Dutch food-chains cooperating with each other. The columnist even suggests taking up a collection to gather enough money to persuade Freddie to stay in the Netherlands - but no, that won't work because clearly Freddie is looking forward to his new job. At least while he is there he will show those Germans what Dutchmen can do!
